Friday's Fancies: Balmain

I still remember the first time that I fell in love with Balmain. I was reading a magazine and saw an article with models wearing their spring/summer 2009 ready to wear collection. The dresses were part Madonna 80's glamour and part beauty queen gone rock and roll. They were so far from my normal style, but they say opposites attract, right?! These two looks were my favorite from that collection. 



When {av} emailed about this week's Friday's Fancies theme being Fashion Forward in honor of Fashion Week and Fashion's Night Out, I immediately thought of using a Fall 2011 Balmain dress I have been dreaming of.

Dress, Shoes, Bag

 I love the deep colored bead work and classic shape of this dress. Because the dress is so stunning on it's own, I didn't want to distract with jewelry. I paired it with a snakeskin bag and black booties for that rock and roll feel that I love Balmain for. I do think this would be perfect for a party in my former home of NYC...maybe some day!
