Picture Frame Makeover

One of my favorite aspects of the kitchen remodel we did last year is our stainless steel refrigerator.  I love the look and layout, but it is really hard to post anything to the front unless you find a super strong magnet. I wanted to find a cute alternative to organize things like save the dates and greeting cards so I used a basic picture frame, nails and twine to create this!

How I Made It!
1. Use a frame that is at least 8x10. I used an 11x14 frame.
2. Hammer one small nail on each long side of the frame so they are at the same height. Add as many rows of nails as desired. I did three rows.
3. Double knot twine around one nail and tightly pull across to the other corresponding nail and tie tightly. I used a drop of glue to secure the twine.

4. Hang your picture frame and clip your invitations, cards, etc.

I hope you have a great Tuesday! We are starting to prepare for Hurricane Irene that may or may not hit Florida on Friday. I have never been through a hurricane before so I am kind of nervous!

This week I am linking up with:
  1. I love this idea! We just moved into a new apartment with a stainless steel frig (I love it, but like yours nothing will hold to it). I want to find a frame & a spot in our new place to try this!

  2. LOVE this DIY!!! I have seen it all over Pinterest. Once I get my own place I am going to go DIY crazy! Lol.

And we should just be getting some real crazy winds and rain, unless Irene decides to turn and head straight for the east coast. Just make sure you have plenty of gas in the car, candles, flashlights, batteries, canned food and water. Don't fret! Luckily with Hurricanes you have time to prep! <3

  3. Perfect idea! I love how vintage it looks. We, too, are looking for more ways of displaying invitations, photos, etc in our office. This may be the perfect solution!

  4. This is so cute- I love DIYs. Don't be worried about the hurricane- I've lived here my whole life and nothing bad really happens besides a few trees get knocked over and the power goes out. (But I could just be lucky). I'm sure it will be fine :) See you Thurs!!!
