So blogging about the headbands that we did for Stacey's wedding made me think about my wedding! I can't believe it was over a year and a half ago...October 25, 2008. Kris and I got married in Grand Cayman, one of my favorite Carribean islands. I have always wanted a destination wedding and my amazing husband was willing to appease my wish! We hosted about 100 guests for the weekend at the Westin resort. I planned most of the wedding on my own, but was greatly assisted by the incredible team at the Westin Casuarina and Celebrations event planning. Celebrations handled all of our decor, day of coordination and many other details! I was so lucky to have a world class event planning company based out of Grand Cayman. Below are some of my favorite details from my destination wedding!
Our wedding welcome party was hosted by Kris' family! The whole beach in front of our hotel was covered in lounges, cabanas, tiki torches, food areas, mojito stations, steel drums and a cigar roller! We really wanted our guests to feel welcome and enjoy the island.

Kris and I took our pre-wedding pictures at several different locations around Grand Cayman. I seriously debated whether I wanted to see Kris before walking down the aisle. I think there is something so traditional and powerful about seeing your future bride/groom for the first time when you are walking down the aisle. But in order to get great pictures together we decided to see each other before the wedding. Looking back on our wedding day, I am so glad we did! Not only did we get great pictures but we were able to have our moment seeing each other in private. It was perfect. We hired in incredible photographer, Rebecca Davidson, and her team, to do all of the photography and video. They truly captured the essence of our wedding... highly recommended!!
Our ceremony took place on the beach. I wanted to stick to a simple and elegant color scheme for the ceremony, so we used mostly all white. We added accents of raffia and blue (bridesmaid dresses). We were so blessed to have the most incredible weather for our wedding! I stressed about it all week, but everything worked out perfectly in the end!
Our two beautiful flower girls, Bailey and Emily wore these silk dresses from J Crew. Lila Grace made their custom blue sashes to match the bridesmaids dresses perfectly!
Saying our vows!!
